Family owned and operated DeGrandpre Jewelers was established in 1946 by Leo DeGrandpre before his son GIA Graduate Gemologist Peter DeGrandpre took over. It is now operated by third generation Mark DeGrandpre – an accomplished jeweler and graduate of the esteemed North Bennett Street School of Jewelry Repair and Design located in Boston.
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is a nonprofit, private, postsecondary educational institution incorporated for the purpose of promoting education and research in gemology and related subjects. GIA’s mission is to ensure the public trust by upholding the highest standards of integrity, academics, science, and professionalism through education, research, laboratory services, and instrument development.
